Good Evening everyone,
Hope everyone is having a great friday evening! Ok so this is just an update on my blanket that i am making for my daughter for Christmas, I started with the tunisian crochet squares, but decided that I was only going to use a few to start. The first photo is of the middle squares that I first started.
As u can from the picture it wasn’t finished but it is.. It’s four squares that I stitched together for make the main middle square.
Then I added squares around one side as u will see.
The main square is in the middle and then the ones that I added on is at the top and right. If you look on the left side I started a stripe of four rows in blue,
Now im going to turn it and do another four rows in another color.. It’s a heather grey.. I guess u can say that it’s a sorta log cabin blanket in tunisian crochet..
Ok so that’s my update, this is what I’m doing on this Friday night, listening to Pandora radio on my IPad (broadway and movie soundtracks) and working on one of my Christmas presents.
Now it’s time for the pic of the day… I guess that’s why I’m going to be calling it.. So everyone have a good night and enjoy!
Good evening everyone,
While going threw my posts for my adventures i realized that i never really shared my story as to how i started with my journey into knitting and crochet.
I wish that i could say that i learned as a young girl, but alas that is not the case, yes growing up my grandmother and then my mother both crocheted, and when i was little i did try to learn, but the p with that was both my mom and grandmother both were left handed and i am a righty, so it was difficult to learn but i am happy to say that i did learn the basic chain stitch..
Ok so on to present day, more then a year ago my best friend got pregnant with her first child, and i had asked my mom to crochet a baby blanket for me and sad to say she was still recovering from having surgery to remove and aneurysm from a yr earlier yes she was back to her normal self but she still sometimes had weakness in her hands, and i thought that crocheting would be a qgood thing for her, but she told me no, which was ok, she also knew that i had been teaching myself to knit(it was a way of coping with ppd) after my second child, which did help instead of taking meds..
So she told me to make the blanket myself, which i am happy to say i did and my best friend loved it, imperfections and all.. Well after making that blanket i guess u could say that the bug hit.. So i decided to have my mom verbally teach me crochet, along with online tutorials. And since then i have not looked back..
I love the calmness i get when i am knitting for crocheting. I usually take some quiet time after dinner, and also after the kids are in bed.. It brings me calmness and quiet to my mind..
Ok so now i wanna hear your story, when did first start your craft of choice, did someone teach you or are you self taught? How do you feel when you are working on your projects?
Now its time for my daily photo… Hope everyone had a great night and enjoy!
Good evening everyone,
I hope everyone is having a great night, I know that I am..
Well I have started some of my Christmas knitting, ok I know. Mentioned it before I am making a blanket for my 8 year old, and I know that I stated that I was making a spa basket with knitted and crocheted wash cloths.. That one is going to be for my BFF who is more like a sister to me..ok anyways for my MIL.. I am making a kitchen set.. Ok I’m not following any specific pattern, but so far I have made a dish cloth(which is basically the same as a wash cloth)and also I guess u could say a hand towel for drying your hands or whatever.. For the hand towel I did not follow any kinda pattern, I kinda played around with it..I had made one for my self a while back and I love it, so I did the same idea for the one that I just finished.. ( maybe I need to write down the pattern that I made up) anyways I’m rambling so instead I’ll just share the pics and you guys tell me what you think..
Have a good night and enjoy 💋
Just a quick post, I have decided to continue sharing the wonderful photos that I find of knitting and crochet.. Whether they be cartoons or vintage photos.. So I hope that you enjoy…
Hello everyone, hope everyone had a great weekend!
I had a great weekend with my mom, went to go visit on Saturday and of course I took some knitting and a crochet project that I am working on. You might remember I mentioned that I am working on tunisian crochet squares for a blanket for my oldest daughter, also took some wash cloths that I am knitting for Christmas spa baskets, anyway my mom who had not crocheted in quite a while because of her health saw me doing that squares and said ohh I miss crocheting so of course since. He more then one ballot yarn with me I handed her a ball and a size h crochet hook and said make any kinda squares you want but make sure that they are the same size as the ones that I am doing, and I also gave her a finished square to compare.. So outside on the front step we went with
Our yarn and crochet hooks and sat and crocheted.. And guess what it felt really nice to do it, everyone that passed by smiled and made nice comments about us sitting together..
By the end of the night when the street kits came on we called it a night and went inside and relaxed..
I told my mom that I’m going to start coming over every Saturday so that we can crochet and knit(I’m the knitter) and she said that she would like that.. And my father said.. Uhh ohh that means I’m going to have to start buying her yarn again.. Not that he minds…
Anyway that’s the adventure that I had this weekend, I started mother daughter knit and crochet day…and I wonder what took me so long…
Hope everyone has a good night.. Please enjoy yet another great photo I found..
There really isn’t nothing new to report, still working on my sock, and my Tunisian squares, so instead I’ll share some great photos that I found online.
Hope guys enjoy! Have a great day 😃
First I hope everyone is having a happy Monday,
Yes I know that I have been missing in action but I swear I have a good excuse, I was in the hospital.. Won’t really go into details, but it took me a minute to be fly back to 100%.. But in the mean time I have some goodies to share, I was working on a hat for a friends new baby and also a cocoon, which she loved.. Would have made her some more things but as mentions I was out of commission for a moment.
Also I am making my first sock, thank to Knit Picks and their wonderful tutorial by Kelley.. Almost done my fist sock. Not sure how I’m feeling about knitting socks but I’ll finish anyways..
Also making a tunisian square blanket for my oldest daughter for Christmas.. The hardest work is making all the squares, and also working on another blanket that maybe be hubby’s Christmas gift.. Not really sure yet..
Anyway I guess that it for now..for now enjoy the pics of my sock in progress.
